BIG FAMILY FUN

Our holiday signature show that played to SOLD-OUT audiences for two years in a row is returning to our Chicago Street stage! Audiences are delighted again and again by Jean Shepard’s charming and hilarious tribute to his Northwest Indiana upbringing and the Christmas when the only thing a boy wanted was an Official Red Ryder 200-shot Carbine Action Range Model Air Rifle. Dad’s major award, the bully-Scut Farkis, Flick stuck to the flagpole and the Bumpus Hounds—moments you know and love, are all part of this BIG Hoosier holiday present as only CTG can deliver it.

Aaron Porter as Ralphie Parker.

Directors' Corner from Jonni & Traci

Nothing captures the flavor of Christmas in the Hoosier state as well as Jean Shepherd’s memoirs of his Indiana boyhood during the late 1930s. In what we hope will continue to be a holiday tradition for families in our community, CTG is pleased to present the stage adaptation of A Christmas Story for the third time. Based on Jean Shepherd’s In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash, the 1983 film became an instant classic with the tale of a nine-year-old boy’s pursuit of the ever-elusive Red Ryder 200-shot Carbine Action Range Model Air Rifle and the comic exploits of his family and friends.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the film, we are thrilled to present one of our favorite holiday stories in this faithful stage adaptation. We triple dog dare you to enjoy A Christmas Story! Happy Holidays from the cast and crew!
